Welcome to Clayhouse Academy!
Hello, my name is Roshanda Clay, and I am the Center Director. I’m originally from South Florida and relocated to Orlando in 2000. I’ve been happily married for over 24 years and am a proud mother to both a daughter and a son. With 26 years of experience in Early Childhood Education, including the last 16 years in management, I’ve had the pleasure of working with children from infants to 5th graders.
My passion lies in attracting and retaining talented, dedicated staff while fostering a nurturing, safe, and joyful environment where future leaders can grow and thrive.
Outside of work, I enjoy serving in ministry, traveling, and spending quality time with family and friends. I am deeply committed to working with children and am excited to be a part of this vibrant community.
Mission
At Clayhouse Academy we are dedicated to providing a clean, safe, and nurturing environment where every child can grow emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially. Our priority is ensuring the safety and security of all children, while fostering a sense of wonder and curiosity. We encourage learning and development through play, offering a space where children can strengthen their muscles, build coordination, spark their imaginations, and, most importantly, have fun.
We believe in allowing each child to grow at their own pace and learn in ways that build their confidence as learners. Our goal is to create a supportive and nurturing environment that is clean, safe, and comfortable for all children. We emphasize respect for oneself, others, and the environment.
Our curriculum is designed to actively engage children in the learning process, offering a variety of strength-based experiences that promote exploration and discovery. Through art, science, math, and literacy, children participate in activities such as literacy journals, ongoing explorations, and projects inspired by their own interests and questions. Additionally, we focus on community-building by fostering friendships, social skills, and cooperative learning
